Josephine & William’s Tea Ceremony and Celebrations in Sydney
Every wedding tells a unique story — and Josephine and William’s celebration in Sydney was the perfect blend of love, family, and culture.
William, originally from Sydney, moved up to Queensland during COVID, where fate brought him and Josephine together. Fast forward, the two are now planning their big wedding celebration in Queensland — but before that, they came down to Sydney to honour William’s side of the family with a traditional tea ceremony and a joyful reception dinner.
A Morning of Tradition: The Tea Ceremony
The day began at William’s family home, where Josephine and William held their tea ceremony — a beautiful mix of Cambodian and Vietnamese traditions that reflected both of their heritages.
From the vibrant outfits to the meaningful rituals, every moment was steeped in cultural significance. I loved capturing the candid emotions of family members as they came together, honoured traditions, and celebrated the couple’s love story.
Dinner at Barluck Seafood Restaurant
After the morning tea ceremony, we regrouped later in the evening for dinner at Barluck Seafood Restaurant. It was the perfect spot for a lively reception surrounded by William’s Sydney family and friends.
The night was full of laughter, heartfelt speeches, and incredible food. Documenting the energy of the room — from the intimate moments at the tables to the joyful atmosphere of the entire celebration — was a true highlight.
A Blend of Cultures & Families
What stood out most about Josephine and William’s day was how seamlessly they blended their Cambodian and Vietnamese traditions. It wasn’t just about rituals, but about honouring their families and creating memories that reflected who they are as a couple.
As a Sydney wedding photographer, these are the moments I love most — capturing not just the big events, but the subtle, genuine emotions in between.
